One thing about being a photographer is that you are pretty much always behind the camera. I have so many more photos of my friends and family than I do of myself, and there is a little part of me that always wants to be in those photos. Sometimes we’ll hand our cameras over to another person, praying that they get a good one. Sometimes it happens, sometimes we’re totally out of focus or look dumb and derpy. That being said, the one time I get good photos of myself is when I have 2nd shooters for my weddings!! There are always moments during the day where the 2nd shooter doesn’t have a good angle, because I’m already shooting it. Luckily, I normally come away with some fun shots of me shooting or working with my couples. Also, I always try to get a shot of me with my couples on their wedding day (even if it’s just a selfie). By the time the wedding day rolls around I’m friends with my couples, and want to grab a photo with them myself! Since my wedding season is over for this year, I’ve decided to share a few of my favorite photos of me behind the scenes!! This will also serve as a HUGE thank you to my amazing 2nd photographers this year 🙂
Deanna Johnson is such a dear friend, and I don’t know what I would do without her friendship, guidance, and support over the last year and a half. I totally love these few she got of me this year.
These two are by Sara Foote, who is totally fabulous and took some of my favorite photos of me working of all time:
Here are a couple from inspiration shoots I did this year, thus the fact that I’m not wearing appropriate wedding attire! I still cannot believe I climbed a mountain in sandals. The left was in Las Vegas, and the right in Colorado:
Here I am shooting some brand photography for Firebrand Collective!! Kinzie Ferguson, who took these of me, is an amazing person and photographer who I am so happy to have gotten to know. She inspires me, and pushes me so much!
And here I am with three of my couples, since these are the only weddings I remembered to get this shot this year, oops! Please excuse the fact that I look sweaty and tired, shooting weddings is hard work 🙂
