Alex & Jess got married on a warm summer day in August in Lawrence Kansas at the Arterra Event Gallery. They chose bright summer colors, accented by beautiful sunflowers and traditional red roses. The arbor they were married under was hand made by the father of the bride, and is going to be a permanent installment holding a chair swing in their backyard (how amazing is that?!) Every guest got a cute fan, and a baggie of red rose petals to throw at the newlyweds as they walked back down the aisle. As their napkins said, it was the “Best Day Ever!”
The day began for the ladies getting hair & make-up done at Arterra, while the guys got ready at Alex’s parent’s home. Jess’s dress was made up of a shorter party dress, and a longer skirt (made from her mother’s wedding gown) and got ready just with her mom; such a special moment. After that, she had a first look with her dad, and with her lovely bridesmaids. Then these two lovebirds had their own first look, and man…it was one of the most emotional first looks I’ve ever been a part of! It was so obvious that they were so excited to be able to spend the rest of their lives together. After photos with the bridal party and family, we took a bit of time for portraits with the two of them. Jess’s dad finished up an old truck, and it was such a fun backdrop for their portraits. Their ceremony was a sweet and heartfelt time spent outside the venue, and then it was time for the reception! Guests enjoyed cocktails while the couple and I took a few post-ceremony photos before heading back to join the party. Alex & Jess had an amazing choreographed dance (that they totally rocked!) and their family & friends tore up the dance floor. It was such a fun day that ended in an amazing party!
Congratulations again to Alex & Jess…I wish you both joy and happiness in your life and marriage <3
