Erik & Brittany | Navy, Grey & Blush Downtown Kansas City Wedding

January 16, 2018

Erik & Brittany’s wedding day started off at The Hilton President Hotel in Downtown Kansas City.  The weather man threatened that it would rain ALL DAY, but we kept our hopes up that we’d be able to head outside for at least a little bit.  After the bride got ready with her ladies she had a first look with her dad (with her mom and sister looking on); this was so sweet!! It was such a special moment with her immediate family got to have together before she walked down the isle.  After the guys got ready, and Erik read a letter from his bride-to-be, they spent some time chilling in the hotel bar with drinks and favorite stories.  Then it was time for Erik to see his bride…and man was he excited!  You could tell that the moment they saw each other he just relaxed.  We then took advantage of a break in the rain for a few downtown KC portraits.  We then loaded up everyone into the bus and headed out for portraits!  Because Brittany is an architect, she had especially requested locations that had beautiful and interesting architecture.  I had chosen a location in downtown KC that (luckily) had an overhang so we were still able to use this spot even though it was raining and you can’t even tell.  The rain stopped so we decided to walk outside of the overhang for one more portrait.  I got Erik & Brittany set up, and then WHOOSH it started pouring!!  I took as many photos as I could, and then rain them back to the overhang.  Honestly, the image I got was probably one of my favorites of all time!!  We then headed to Union Station for a few more portraits before the ceremony at Westport Presbyterian Church.  After the beautiful ceremony where Erik & Brittany said “I DO,” we headed to 2016 Main to cut some cake, eat some food, and party the night away!

Erik & Brittany were seriously so much fun to work with every step of the way.  They were so happy together all day, even with the rain!  When I met them I asked what were some things that they loved about each other; Erik said “Her fun-loving spirit, adventurousness, willingness to try new things, and her smile.”  Brittany said, “I love Erik’s sense of humor, his passion & drive, how much he cares about me and wants to make me happy! And his handsome-ness! ;)”  I mean, how stinkin’ cute is that?!  They will be headed to Europe at some point this year for a honeymoon, and I can’t wait to hear all about their next adventures together <3
