Chris & Sierra | Kansas City Engagement Session

February 21, 2017

About a year ago I gave away a free engagement session!  I do this periodically because it’s fun and keeps me busy in the off season.  And last year, Chris & Sierra were the winners of that session, and I am so happy that they did.  We planned their session for the fall, and ended up doing it on their 5 year anniversary (which was adorable).  We met at a park near the Liberty Memorial, and though the weather threatened to get bad it held out just enough for us.  And we even got a few cute photos of them cuddled under an umbrella, and who doesn’t want to cuddle under an umbrella with their love 🙂

I asked these love birds a few questions to help me get to know them, and I just have to share their adorable answers with you:

What was your first impression of your fiancé?

Sierra – I thought he was too cool to talk to me. Meanwhile, Chris was too nervous to formulate words, hence the ‘not talking’. We got off to a slow and shy start..

What is your favorite memory from when you first started dating?

Sierra – Our ‘super classy’ first date at Olive Garden. We both look back and laugh because Chris was nervous that Olive Garden wasn’t fancy enough, but I just really love their breadsticks, so I was super excited and didn’t think too much into it.

How did he propose?

Sierra – We went to Cancun this past August. Chris thought it would be a good idea to go take pictures during sunset since it was our last full day. We set up a gorilla pod that was attached to one of the beach flag poles and set the timer to take our picture. After two shots, Chris told me to go take a look to see if we got any good ones. I made some comment and he wasn’t responding, and when I turned around, he was on one knee. I immediately lost it, and just couldn’t believe it. We met a couple while on the trip, and they were nice enough to hide out and take pictures of the whole thing. They are my favorite pictures we have and make me wish I could relive that day over and over!

Tell me 3 things you love about your fiancé?

Sierra – 1) His motivation/determination in life.  2) His brain.  3) His ability to make me laugh and make me happier than I have ever been.

Chris – 1) Her drive.  2) Her goofy humor.  3) Her humility.

Chris & Sierra will be getting married in Mexico(!!) in just a few months.  I wish you both the best of luck on your wedding day, and in your new life together 🙂
