Connor & Brittney | Burgundy & Grey Fall Kansas City Wedding

April 3, 2018

Connor & Brittney are one of those couples that I knew from the beginning that we would have a lot of fun.  Connor is a huge goofball and is constantly doing something silly to make those around him laugh.  Brittney is such a great compliment to him, and loves his silly antics.  They are definitely the kind of couple that takes beautiful intimate photos, but then immediately busts out laughing…both of which I love!!  That being said, they also are so super sweet with each other and it was a honor for me to be a part of the more intimate and quiet moments on their wedding day.  When planning their wedding, it was important that Connor had a burgundy suit (because of Ron Burgundy…of course) and this set a lot of the color palette for the day, and was also highlighted in the beautiful floral design.  Brittney had custom Toms that were hand painted with her new last name, which was so cute and comfy for her all day!  My favorite detail was the black and white polka dot bow ties and pocket squares!

Brittney began her morning by getting ready at The Raphael Hotel on the Plaza in the heart of Kansas City.  This made for a beautiful space to start the day, and even gave her a little sneak peek to see her groom when he arrived (don’t worry, he couldn’t see her)!  We used the backdrop of the Plaza and river as the perfect spot for their first look, bridal party photos, and portraits of the two of them.  There was some sort of festival that day and because of that they were serenaded by opera singers during their pictures…it was amazing and hilarious.  After photos we headed to The Historic Space at The Stanely to get them hitched!  After the ceremony, during the cocktail hour, we were able to steal away for a few more photos on the roof of The Stanely’s Aspen Room in the glowy sunset; watching these two dance together as the sun was setting was one of my absolutely favorite moment of the day!  It was seriously such a special time to let these two enjoy each other for a few minutes away from their wonderful albeit loud families.  After some pretty hilarious and some impromptu toasts, they ate, drank, and danced the night away!
