Francis & Amanda | Proposal Frankemuth Michigan

June 11, 2014

I have wanted to capture a proposal ever since my wonderful friend Abby (of Abigail Wiebe Photography) was there to catch the moment when I said “yes!”  I was so excited when Francis called me a few days before his big proposal to see if I would be available to photograph him popping the question.  Luckily, I was available and we began making plans.  Over the next few days we texted back and forth about the location, time, and plan.  I was connected with Amanda’s cousin to continue making sure everyone was on the same page.  I was even sent photos of the progress, and I couldn’t be more excited.

I arrived at the location (somewhere I’d never been before) and met up with Amanda’s cousin. Honestly, I was a bit nervous, and I wasn’t even the one getting proposed to!! There were 5 people working together to make sure that this went off without a hitch, so we check out the tree (that Francis had carved), found the perfect spot to hide out, and got the fireworks ready.  We let Francis know that it was go time and we didn’t have to wait long; the next thing I knew they turned the corner.  I know I probably looked silly running around and dashing behind trees, but I was so excited to capture this moment that I didn’t care.

After things calmed down a bit, we went into to town to take a few photos of the two of them.  We squeezed in as much as we could with our dwindling light, and were able to have a little bit of fun doing it.

I’m so happy for Francis and Amanda, and I was so happy and honored to be a part of this.  Now comes the wedding planning, though I’ve heard that Amanda has been ready to start for awhile 🙂
