I’ve got some big news…

July 22, 2013

I’m a planner.  I plan every detail of my life because I have to.  The older I get, the better I get at changing plans easily when need be.  About a year ago, my plans changed.  I always thought that I’d stay in Lincoln, Nebraska for the rest of my life.  My fiance loves Nebraska, is very close with his family, and was pretty determined to stay.  But life throws you curve balls and you either try to catch them, or you duck and hide (which is a funny metaphor, because I have a tendency to do the latter).  Ben decided he wanted to go to grad school for a sports psychology program, but there isn’t one in Nebraska.  So I knew then we’d be moving.  After months of tests, essays, and applications, there were more months of waiting.  At last, we decided that he would attend Michigan State.  What this means, is I’m moving to Michigan.

As some of you may know, I’m getting marred on August 10th.  It’s been a crazy process of getting everything ready, and as of today we are 19 days and counting.  It has definitely given me a new insight into what my clients feel as they plan the most important day of their lives.  I’m so excited to start this new journey with Ben, but it’s going to be a busy month.  I have so much prep still to do, plus the wedding itself, the honeymoon (in Ireland), and moving to Michigan a day after we get back.  August 2013 is going to possibly be the busiest month of my life and I cannot wait.

Because life is happening right now and I don’t want to miss it, I will be taking a month off.  I’ve never given myself a break like this, but it’s very much needed.  I won’t be shooting, editing, or even responding to emails.  Not because I don’t want to, but because my life needs me more.

I’ll be back in September, and relocating my business to East Lansing, Michigan!  I will definitely still be shooting in Nebraska, so don’t hesitate to contact me.  I already have some weddings booked for next summer, and I love the excuse to come back home.

I want to give a huge shout-out to all of my wonderful clients here in Nebraska.  You’ve been absolutely amazing to me and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to work with each and every one of you.  Thanks, and wish me luck.
