25 Random Things about Me

November 5, 2014

Sometimes in this day and age, we forget that behind all of the big companies that we see on a daily basis is either a person or a small group of people.  People, that are just people.  And I want everyone to know that even though I’m a business ower, I’m a person just like you.  I have funny little quirks, that I figure you might find interesting, so here is a bit about me:

  1. I love popcorn.  I really like the cheddar cheese kind, but I’ll eat any kind, and I might eat it even if it’s a little stale.
  2. I’m always cold.  My feet control my temperature, and so if I can warm up my feet, then I’m good.
  3. I love watching TV.  I pretty much always have it on if nothing else but background noise, but I have quite a few shows that I keep up on religiously.  Thank god for DVR.
  4. My favorite colors are red, pink, and black.  I know black isn’t really a color, but makes for really classy clothes.
  5. I eat lots of ice cream.  I completely blame this on my mom and grandmother, because they were always eating ice cream when I was growing up.  Somehow my mom found ice cream in the middle of Yellowstone, which is still amazing to me.
  6. I don’t look good in hats.  I wish I did, because there are some really cute ones out there, but I just don’t.  That doesn’t change the fact that I always try them on, just hoping.
  7. The Harry Potter Series is one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite, of all time.  I own all of the movies, and watch them on a pretty regular basis.
  8. When I was growing up, I hated the spelling of my name.  Mostly because I could never find it on any of those personalized keychains/mugs/etc.  Now that I’m older, I actually love it.
  9. I have favorite animals on 4 of the 7 continents; panda, elephant, horse, and penguin.
  10. I do not like marshmallows in my hot chocolate.  And I don’t really like smores.  But I’ll burn them over the fire and eat them that way all day long.
  11. I am a huge husker fan, but I’m an even bigger fan of the Cornhusker Marching Band.  It was my life for 4 years, and now I get to watch and be proud.
  12. My husband kind of rocks.  We met when I was 15, and have been together since high school.  I’m so lucky to have married my high school sweetheart (insert awe here).
  13. If I had all the money in the world, I would go get coffee every day.  I don’t, so I make quite a bit of tea, coffee, etc at home.
  14. Quilting is one of my favorite hobbies.  My first quilt was made out of old sweaters with a flannel back, and I cuddle in it almost every night.
  15. Music has always been a huge part of my life, from the time I was 4 and my grandpa bought me my piano, to 4 years in college band.  I never wanted it as a career, but it always has been an undertone of my life.
  16. I have a big love for long sleeve shirts.  The kind where I can pull my hands in.  And I love it when it gets chilly enough that I can wear them.
  17. I’m a bit of a sentimental pac-rat.  I have piles, and boxes of things that I just can’t get rid of for sentimental reasons.  I’m getting to the point that I need to purge some of this, but it’s just so hard!
  18. I really like the T.V. show “Criminal Minds,” but i can’t watch it once the sun goes down, or I’ll get super freaked out.  No idea why I still watch it.
  19. I love people.  I do everything I do, boudoir, weddings, advertising/marketing, because I love people.
  20. I got my eye glued shut in Kindergarden.  It’s a long story; if want to know, just ask!
  21. I have been known to spend hours waisting time on Pinterest.  It’s really sad, but I’ve been able to find so many great ideas that I think it’s worth it.
  22. I have a fantasy football team and I like to pretend I’m good at it.  I won one year, but I have a tendency to forget to set my line-up until minutes before the first game.  This year hasn’t been good at all.
  23. I’m defintiely a cat person.  Dogs are ok, but cats are so much cooler.
  24. Books are a great thing.  I like being done with college and having the time to read again.  I almost forgot how a good book can take you away from this world and drop you in the middle of another one.  I love books.
  25. I am so thankful for all of the wonderful clients that I have had over the years.  Those who trusted me in the early years before I trusted myself will always hold a special place in my heart.  More recently, my current clients are all so wonderful and fun to work with, are willing to work with me every step of the way, and have fun becoming friends throughout the process.  I wouldn’t be here without all of them.

Phew!  Coming up with that many things was actually kind of hard.  Well, now you know me a bit better.  I can’t wait to get to know you 🙂
