Chris & Martha | Part 1 | Columbia Missouri Wedding

December 2, 2020

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on the blog, and I’m coming in hot with a doozy!! I generally blog my weddings in the order they were shot, but I’ve saved this one until I could spend the time it deserved. Chris and Martha are dear friends. I met them both in college marching band; Chris was in the tenor sax section (with my now husband), and Martha was in the trumpet section with me. For the whole story of how they met, check out their engagement session post HERE.

Martha started the day getting ready at her parent’s home with her family and bridesmaids. Floral robes were worn, champagne was consumed, and the ladies had a blast getting ready together. After Martha’s mom and sister helped her get dressed, her sweet dad came in with eyes full of tears. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

Chris, on the other hand, got ready in the couple’s home. All of his favorite guys made sure he looked perfect in his favorite suit and shoes

After a sweet first look, and a few portraits of the wedding party, Martha’s dad got to walk her down the aisle. The bride’s family friend officiated the ceremony, which made it all extra special. While their friends and family watched, Chris & Martha vowed to forever.

I’ll be honest, it was a toasty day, but Chris & Martha were champs. We walked all around their venue to give them some time and space alone (while creating some beautiful portraits) before we headed back into the hustle and bustle of the reception. Tears were shed during all of the toasts (what a wonderfully sappy group of humans!), these two danced their first dance to “The Bones” by Maren Morris and then the dance floor was open! After sneaking away for a few sunset photos, Chris & Martha got to share in their first pieces of pizza as newlyweds. These two, along with their favorite people, danced the night away!! After some tearful goodbyes, they chose to walk away and into the night…together.

You may have noticed a familiar face amongst the bridesmaids…yes it’s me! Stay tuned next week for part two of this blog series where I detail how the heck I was able to be Chris & Martha’s wedding photographer AND a bridesmaid!!!
