Chris & Martha | Downtown Columbia & Campus Engagement Session

October 30, 2019

I’m so excited to finally tell one of my favorite stories…Martha and I met playing trumpet together in the Cornhusker Marching Band in college. Chris, on the other hand, met my husband playing tenor saxophone. Sections don’t really mingle, so they knew of each other but never really met. But my they stayed close friends with us and when I got married in 2013 they were both in our wedding party. Figuring out the order can be a bit political (and silly) but when I was deciding which men would get paired with my ladies I knew Chris & Martha would be great together. So they met for real, because they walked together on my wedding day. Years and many stories later, Chris proposed (check out that moment HERE) and they chose me to be their wedding photographer AND bridesmaid (don’t worry, you’ll hear how I managed that in the next post about them). Though these two met when we all lived in Nebraska, they moved to Columbia MO last summer for Martha’s new job. Martha grew up in Columbia and it always had a special place in her heart, so moving here meant she got to share it with her favorite person. For their session we wandered around campus and downtown, all the while Martha telling me all about growing up in this fun little college town. Be on the look out for two separate blog posts about their wedding…yes they are just that special <3

  1. […] It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on the blog, and I’m coming in hot with a doozy!! I generally blog my weddings in the order they were shot, but I’ve saved this one until I could spend the time it deserved. Chris and Martha are dear friends. I met them both in college marching band; Chris was in the tenor sax section (with my now husband), and Martha was in the trumpet section with me. For the whole story of how they met, check out their engagement session post HERE. […]
