Getting to photograph weddings back home in Nebraska always brings me so much joy. Bethany and I are old friends (we met because we were both in Legally Blonde at the Lincoln Community Playhouse years ago) and she sang in the choir at my wedding in 2013 so I was overjoyed to be a part of her big day.
The day started with hair & make-up and then getting dressed and ready at the church. This beautiful chapel was just finishing up some renovations so there was a white walled room with gorgeous light that was wide open and the perfect place for Bethany to get dressed with her favorite people around her. After their first look and some family photos, these two took some moments apart before Bethany took her father’s arm to walk down the aisle. She couldn’t even make it the whole way without having to stop and wipe a tear…proof that having a first look doesn’t ruin that moment when you’re walking together to say I DO!
After a touching ceremony we headed to the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for photos with the bridal party and the bride and groom. We got amazingly lucky and the trees on campus were in full bloom! I have to be honest…the photos of Nate & Bethany under these blooming trees are some of my favorites ever <3
We then loaded back up onto the bus and headed to the reception where there was good food, great cake, and one of the most hilarious parties I’ve been a part of. When some of the guests are in school to be professional performers (Bethany was studying opera at the time, and now teaches music at Marble Music Studio) it makes for a very fun dance party!
