There is something amazingly romantic about the winter. Snow falling, that satisfying crunch under foot, and cuddling with your favorite person to keep warm. Winter weddings are not the norm, but there can be so much beauty in the winter time! Especially in Michigan, where snow is on the ground for 5 months of the year, winter weddings are becoming more and more popular. This is one of the reasons that myself, along with six other amazing wedding professionals, decided to do a stylized shoot expressing the beauty of winter!
Our original inspiration was a big poofy dress in fluffy snow. From there we considered the traditional colors for the holiday season, red and green, but in a new way. Red and green are naturally found together in nature, and can be so elegant when the correct shades are chosen. Rich, deep hues with gold accents became the focus of our inspiration.
When the day of the shoot came, I do have to say, we all had a blast. I don’t think that I’ve ever worked with more excited, willing, and cooperative professionals! They didn’t kill me when I chose a location that was a hike up a hill with 2 feet of snow the whole way. We all busted our buns up the hill to carry all the bits and pieces, and worked together to create a beautiful table setting. I cannot thank them enough for all of their hard work! (Please see the bottom of this post for all of their information!)
Without further ado, enjoy!
