Michael & Taryn are a pretty special couple. Not only are they just pretty darn awesome, but Taryn is my husband’s cousin in a family that is very close. I also had the opportunity to photograph Taryn’s older brother’s wedding in 2012 (which feels like a lifetime ago!). I felt so honored when they chose me to photograph their big day in Evergreen Colorado; I absolutely love getting to use my years of experience helping out those I love dearly!
Taryn’s morning started out at an AirBNB close to their venue. The morning was filled with girl time, mimosas, and hair & make-up! Once we all got to the venue and Taryn got dressed (in an amazingly gorgeous BLUSH wedding gown) we took a few photos with the ladies, and then hid her away. Her dad got to see her all dressed up right before he walked her down the aisle. With the mountain and lake as a backdrop, Michael & Taryn vowed to each in front of family and friends.
After spending some time alone, enjoying the beautiful Colorado scenery and taking portraits, we headed back to the party. Michael & Taryn chose to do their first dance out on the patio surrounded by all of their guests; it was honestly one of my favorite first dances ever! Then we all headed inside for food, toasts, and to dance the night away! I’m so excited that I get to watch these two grow in love as we all grow older together 🙂
Since my husband is the cousin of the bride, I have to share one of my personal favorites of the day; all 12 of them hadn’t been in one place together in years! It was great watching them enjoy each other’s company and come together in honor of Taryn!
After it was all said and done, Michael & Taryn chose to order a wooden box with their monogram etched into it for their wedding album!! It is such a beautiful memento and perfect accessory to their first family heirloom.
